We are always trying to improve the Musical Ladder and have been running the program for seven years, and we know how it goes. We’ve asked around about what kids like, and there’s not much that kids love more than stuffed animals. With the help of our Practice Buddies, we’ve found a way to get students to practice more, making both parents and teachers happier.
This is free for all of our students. After students pass their first apprentice test after 90 days, they get a Practice Buddy of their choice. Students will bring their Practice Buddy home and to their lessons. Practice Buddies are the happiest when they hear their friends practicing, so students will want to continue making them happy too! With the help of our students and their Practice Buddies working together, students will practice at home even more and progress faster at their instruments.
Family Day – February 20th OPEN
Bring a Friend Week – February 13th – 19th

Faculty Concert – April 23rd
We are excited to announce that we have won the Top Choice award for the top music school in Mississauga for 2023! Thanks to our wonderful students, parents, teachers, staff, and supporters. This is the sixth consecutive year we have been awarded this honour, and we could not be more grateful.
We want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who voted and speaks highly of us. We are immensely proud of our students and grateful for what each of you brings to the stage. Thank you for believing in us, and we look forward to another year of dreaming big, playing around, and achieving everything we can.
Immense gratitude,
Mississauga Fine Arts Academy team
We are excited to announce that the faculty concert will resume this year! On April 23rd we will have a concert with only teachers performing at the Living Arts Centre. This will be an excellent opportunity for students to watch their teachers performing and sharing their talent on stage at the Living Arts Centre in the RBC Theatre.
If you’d like to see an example of previous Faculty Concerts, check out our 2019 concert HERE
Stay tuned and watch for the announcement of early bird tickets on sale.
In order to keep our students, staff, and teachers safe, we have implemented the Family Safety Plan in our academy! This includes full-time office staff so that students and teachers are never left unsupervised, requiring extensive background checks of all of our teachers and staff, security cameras in all rooms, and an open-door policy for parents, which means that they’re always invited to sit in on their child’s lessons.
At the academy, we require office staff to be present during lessons. Many other music academies have tight budgets and cannot afford the extra expense of employing office staff. This means that a student and a teacher might be unsupervised together in a lesson at 7:00 at night. In our opinion, this is not a safe practice and is irresponsible on the part of the academy. Our academy always has office staff present so that students are never left alone with teachers.
We require that teachers and staff members undergo extensive background checks. Our teachers are required to pass a Criminal record and a Vulnerable sector check. We view this as a necessary measure to preserve the safety and integrity of our academy.
The safety of our students is our top priority, so we have security cameras in every single room. The precautionary program may be costly to the academy, but such a feature is worth it if it keeps our students safe and gives the parents peace of mind.
Our school has an open-door policy for parents, inviting them to sit in on their child’s lessons. Families look for this when selecting an appropriate music school for their students.
We are very excited to announce that our January 2023 student of the month is Aviva N! Aviva has been taking piano classes since July 2021 and is doing a tremendous job. Here’s what Mr. Amjad, Aviva’s teacher, has to say about her wonderful achievements:
Aviva is a brilliant and hard-working student that has shown great effort and care in her piano playing. For over a year, she has continuously illustrated the perfect example of a dedicated, tolerable, and genuine individual with her craft. With great attendance and her habit of prepping for each lesson, her piano skills are growing rapidly. I sense she will continue to be the student who always exceeds expectations. Wonderful Job, Aviva! You’ve earned it. – Mr. Amjad
We also asked Aviva a few questions. Here are her answers
What instrument(s) do you play? Piano
How long have you been taking lessons? Almost two years
What is your favourite song to play? “Lydian melody”
What is your favourite food? Rice
What is your favourite thing you’ve learned recently in class? Learning new songs
What is your favourite colour? Purple
Congratulations Aviva! We are so proud of your achievement, and we can’t wait to see what you do next!

What is the Musical Ladder Reward System?
At Mississauga Fine Arts Academy, we believe every student benefits from setting and achieving personalized goals. That’s why we use the Musical Ladder System—a unique, motivational program that celebrates students’ progress in music, just like karate belts or swimming levels.
With the Musical Ladder System, each student receives a customized learning plan, and every 3-6 months, they’re tested on their progress and knowledge. As they reach new milestones, we celebrate their achievements with fun rewards, including bracelets and trophies, to recognize their dedication and growth as musicians.
This approach keeps students motivated and inspired, making learning music an exciting journey.
Our goal is to help people in the best way possible. this is a basic principle in every case and cause for success. contact us today for a free consultation.
