🎶 Highlights from the Chamber Group Workshop & Show
On Saturday, August 16, the Mississauga Fine Arts Academy proudly presented our annual Chamber Group Workshop & Show at the Living Arts Centre. The evening was filled with creativity, collaboration, and inspiring performances that showcased the incredible talent and dedication of our students.
A Theme of New Music and Original Soundscape
This year’s theme encouraged students to step beyond traditional repertoire and explore innovative ways of making music together. Guided by our passionate conductor, Ms. Vira, the Chamber Strings Ensembles delivered a performance that blended technique, imagination, and teamwork.
A Student Composer’s Debut
One of the highlights of the evening was the premiere of an original composition by our talented student Mohamed Moussa. His piece added a personal and creative touch to the program and received enthusiastic applause from the audience.
A Surprise Jazz Performance
The evening also featured a special surprise: a jazz performance by Justin Deng and his fellow student musicians. Their energy and fresh sound brought the audience to their feet and added a fun, vibrant twist to the program.
Community Spirit
The event was not only about music but also about community. Parents, students, and friends came together to support the performers and celebrate their growth. The Q&A session that followed provided families with insights into the benefits of ensemble playing and future opportunities at MFAA.

A New Musical Year Awaits: MFAA’s 2025 - 2026 Calendar
It’s hard to believe we’re already halfway through summer! With back-to-school season just around the corner, we’re busy preparing to welcome our students with a clear and organized plan for the upcoming school year. Our updated school year calendar is now available to help you plan ahead and better understand how the Academy operates.
Many parents often ask, “How does the 48-week system work?”
Our lesson schedule is designed around a year-round 48-week calendar, ensuring that each student receives 48 lessons per year, no matter which day of the week they attend. This means there are 48 Mondays, 48 Tuesdays, and so on built into the schedule. On average, students receive four lessons per month, though some months may have three lessons and others five. This pattern usually balances out over two consecutive months and can easily be followed on the calendar. To keep things simple, we do not prorate months with fewer lessons; tuition remains consistent each month as the system evens itself out across the year.
At Mississauga Fine Arts Academy, we’re always working to simplify our processes and make things easier for our students and parents. We’re excited for the start of a new school year and can’t wait to see our students continue their musical journey
Summer Rocket Program: Building Stronger Musicians
This summer, our Music Rocket Program was an exciting and educational journey for all who participated! Students had the opportunity to expand their lessons, try out additional instruments, and take their skills to the next level. It was not only a chance to improve technique but also the perfect way to kick off September feeling motivated and inspired.
We were thrilled to see so many enthusiastic participants taking part in the program. The dedication and effort put in by our students truly made this summer a great start toward continued growth and success. Many are carrying the momentum forward by continuing with extra lessons or adding another instrument into September, and we couldn’t be more proud of their commitment.
As a special recognition, all participants were rewarded with a unique Summer Rocket Program trophy – a symbol of their hard work, dedication, and love for music.
Thank you to everyone who joined the Music Rocket Program and embraced this wonderful opportunity. We are excited to see how these new skills will shine in the months ahead.

🌟 MFAA Chamber Strings & Justin Deng’s Jazz Band at the Golden Kids Festival 🌟
On Saturday, August 23rd, the MFAA Chamber Strings, under the inspiring direction of Ms. Vira, and the lively Justin Deng’s Jazz Band filled the Golden Kids Festival with music and joy!
Our students shone on stage, sharing the results of their dedication and countless hours of practice. Each performance was a reminder of how much they’ve grown, not only as musicians but also as a team. It was truly heartwarming to see their passion for music come alive in front of the community.
A huge thank-you goes out to our parents and families, whose encouragement and presence made the evening so special. Your support is what empowers our young musicians to step confidently onto the stage and share their talents.
And, of course, we celebrate Ms. Vira, whose guidance, energy, and love for teaching continue to inspire our Chamber Strings group. Her leadership has been instrumental in creating such a beautiful performance.
Together, with students, parents, teachers, and the community, the evening was a celebration of music, growth, and connection.

Celebrating Our Students’ RCM Exam Success! 🎶✨
From Practice to Performance: RCM Achievements Revealed
At Mississauga Fine Arts Academy, we are proud to celebrate the dedication and accomplishments of our students. Throughout July and August, many of our talented musicians successfully completed their Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) exams—a true reflection of their commitment to musical excellence.
The RCM program is a prestigious and comprehensive curriculum that develops technical skill, musical expression, and a deep understanding of one’s instrument. Preparing for these exams takes focus, perseverance, and expert instruction, and we are excited to share and recognize the outstanding results achieved by our students this exam season:

These achievements are a testament to our students’ hard work and the consistent encouragement from their teachers and families. RCM exams push students to sharpen their technique, enhance their musical expression, and expand their understanding of music theory -all essential steps in their development as musicians.

Student of The Month
Congratulations to Samriddhi L., our Student of the Month! Samriddhi has been taking piano lessons at Mississauga Fine Arts Academy since September 2024 and studies with Mr. Abi. Her dedication, steady progress, and love for music truly stand out.
Let’s hear what Mr. Abi says about Samriddhi’s progress:
“Samriddhi has been studying piano for almost a year, and she’s demonstrated tenacity and determination while always working hard and improving her talent. Always eager to learn more, Samridhhi brings excitement to every class. Her constant strive towards success is an inspiration.” – Mr. Abi
