Not Your Usual Toddler Music Program...

Unlike other music introduction programs for children ages 3-5, Animal Adventures in Music offers a dynamic and comprehensive curriculum at an affordable price. It covers essential topics like rhythm, note reading, and instrument introduction, all delivered through dedicated one-on-one teaching.
Kids will enjoy engaging workbook activities, colourful stickers, and fun classroom games, making learning an exciting and rewarding experience.
Why Should Your 3-5 Year-Old Start Music Lessons?
Young children have an incredible capacity to absorb and process information, far more than we might realize. Their brains are constantly growing, acting like sponges soaking up new knowledge.
In Rishi Srirams 2020 article “Why Ages 2-7 Matter So Much for Brain Development” (read article), Sriram explains that “children’s brains develop in spurts called critical periods.” These phases, which begin at age 2 and last until around age 7, enable children to learn at twice the pace of any other stage of life. As Sriram notes, “children’s experiences in this phase have lasting effects on their development.”

Young brains are especially responsive to bright colours and loud sounds, which explains why many children’s shows feature energetic music, vibrant visuals, and upbeat voices. Have you ever had a TV theme song stick in your head after watching it with a child? That’s because lively, sing-song learning techniques really work!
Anne Steinhoffs 2016 article “The Importance of Music in Early Childhood Development” (read article), highlights that “the years from birth to six are the most crucial for a child’s musical development.” Even at a very young age, toddlers can begin to recognize tones and memorize music. This early musical exposure not only nurtures their musical abilities but also supports language development.

Why Animal Adventures in Music?
This program introduces 10 instruments over 10 levels, offering a fun and engaging musical journey for your child. Throughout the program, your child will explore 10 themed books with their teacher, each focused on a different instrument. Each book is packed with learning activities, games, stickers, and more. The curriculum is carefully structured, with each level building on the one before it.
We designed this curriculum to do more than just teach basic music theory—we wanted to captivate your child through imaginative storytelling.
For instance, while learning about the flute, children team up with Bianca the Bee to recover the missing flute pieces stolen by mischievous ants! The one-on-one nature of the program ensures that your child can progress at their own pace, taking time to fully explore the world of music without feeling rushed. This creates a joyful and lasting love for music.
By the end of the program, your child will be able to identify and understand basic music symbols, read and clap rhythms from quarter notes to sixteenth notes, and read three octaves of notes on the grand staff. They’ll also have learned about a variety of instruments, including piano, guitar, drums, violin, cello, clarinet, saxophone, and more!

What Do You Mean When You Say "Levels”?
Similar to a martial arts Black Belt program, we use different levels to track progress and advancement within our program. Each level builds upon the previous one! At every stage, your child will explore a new instrument, gaining the chance to listen to it, see it, touch it, and learn how it functions.

They will also discover new musical theory concepts while reviewing what they have previously learned. Upon completing a level, each child receives a custom medal featuring the character and color associated with that level!
The full series includes:
Level 1: Petey’s Big Adventure – Voice
Level 2: Tina Takes on the Jungle – Guitar
Level 3: Lacey’s Sticky Violin – Violin
Level 4: Bianca and the Pesky Ants – Flute
Level 5: Hugo’s Missing Drumsticks – Drums
Level 6: Wendy’s Birthday Surprise – Saxophone
Level 7: Baxter the Magnificent Magician – Cello
Level 8: Gracie Goes for the Gold – Trumpet
Level 9: Frankie’s Smoothie Stand – Clarinet
Level 10: Rex’s Clean Up Crew – Piano/Keyboard
What comes after Animal Adventures in Music?
By the time students graduate from this program, they will be well-prepared to start private lessons on their chosen instrument, provided it’s suitable for their age.
Regardless of the instrument they pursue next, they will have a significant advantage and a solid foundation in musical theory that will benefit them throughout their lives. Young minds are highly adaptable at this age, and our goal is to instill essential musical foundations, knowledge, and a lifelong passion for and appreciation of music.
