Easing COVID restrictions March 21
On Wednesday, March 9, 2022, the provincial government announced the removal of several COVID-related restrictions, which will impact students and staff. The changes are effective as of March 21, 2022.
We are aware that the changes represent a significant loosening of restrictions that have been in place for some time, and that there may be different reactions to them. We encourage everyone to respect the decisions individuals will make as a result of this provincial direction. Even though it is no longer mandatory, we will still ask teachers to wear masks inside their room during lesson time due to the smaller room sizes and to assure a safe learning environment.
Some students, teachers and staff may choose to continue to wear a mask, even though it is no longer mandatory. We ask that you please respect these choices.
We understand these changes may prompt some families to reconsider their learning model choice. We continue to provide an online option. If you are considering this option, please contact us and we will gladly help you transition.
What does it mean for students, teachers and staff?
Masking – Masking is no longer required for students and staff. However, we still ask teachers to wear masks inside the room during lesson time for another two weeks. We will continue to provide masks for those who wish to wear one.
March Break travel – Travellers returning to Canada must wear a mask at all times when in public spaces, including schools, and maintain a list of close contacts for their first 14 days upon return. Canadian travel requirements can be found here: Federal Travel Requirements
Daily screening – Students and staff are still expected to screen themselves at home before reporting to school.
As we prepare to implement these changes on March 21, 2022, please know that we value your continued patience and support, we respect your personal pandemic choices, and we’ll always take whatever precaution is necessary to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our students and staff.

Teachers' Corner - Mr. Sam & Mr. Jack
We are super proud to announce that two of our very own teachers Mr. Sam and Mr. Jack were nominated for the Canadian Independent Music Video Awards. We’ve being always huge advocates for talent, whether it is a student or a teacher we’ll always be promoting it.
Big Congratulations to Mr. Sam and Mr. Jack for such wonderful achievements! We would like to thank everyone for your support and for taking the time to vote for our teachers. Practice Challenge Trophy Winners
The Practice Challenge Program is one of the many highlights here at Mississauga Fine Arts Academy. Ensuring our students stay motivated is of utmost priority to us, and since the launch of this program last year we are proud to have seen so much progress! The program encourages students to practice through a series of six challenges, for which they earn wristbands. As an added incentive, any student that completes ALL six challenges will earn themselves a Practice Challenge Trophy!
Congratulations to our Practice Challenge Trophy Winners Ardene Jade M, Aarya P, Aahana P, Ayon K, Reyaansh D. You worked so hard and pushed your abilities to the limit to make this success happen. This amazing accomplishment is just one step on your musical journey. It is an incredible milestone and you deserve the spotlight to celebrate the moment.
We can’t wait to see more students participating in the program and looking forward to having many more Trophy winners this year. If you’d like to participate in the program check out our website here to find out more about each individual challenge.

Student of The Month
Thomas P
We are very excited to announce that our February 2022 student of the month is Thomas P! Thomas has been taking drum classes with Mr. Travis since January of 2022 and is doing a tremendous job. Here’s what Mr. Travis has to say about Thomas’s wonderful achievements:
“Thomas always comes in with such great energy and is incredibly enthusiastic about drumming and music. He’s a joy to be around and I am glad to be his teacher.“

What instrument(s) do you play? Drums
How long have you been taking lessons? I have been taking lessons for 1 month
What’s your favourite song to play? My favourite song to play is “Chaos from Friday Night Funkin’”
What’s your favourite food? Pizza and A & W
What is your favourite thing you’ve learned in class recently? That you can make different noises with the drum. You make different noises by doing different things.
What is your favourite colour? My favourite colours are blue, red and green
