🎶 Chamber Group Workshop & Show – RSVP Reminder
We’re thrilled to invite you once again to the MFAA Chamber Strings Workshop and Show taking place on Saturday, August 16 at 6:00 PM in the Staging Room at the Living Arts Centre. This year’s theme, “New Music and Original Soundscape,” promises an inspiring evening filled with creativity and collaboration.
The event will kick off with a 30-minute workshop led by our talented conductor, Ms. Vira, followed by a 30-minute performance featuring our Chamber Strings Ensembles. Among the highlights will be an original composition specially created by our gifted student, Mohamed Moussa. Additionally, you’ll be treated to a surprise jazz performance by Justin Deng and his fellow student musicians.
This free event is open to everyone and is a wonderful opportunity for families and friends to experience the magic of music-making together. After the performance, there will be a Q&A session where you can learn more about upcoming programs and opportunities for your children to get involved.

A New Musical Year Awaits: MFAA’s 2025 - 2026 Calendar
It’s hard to believe we’re already halfway through summer! With back-to-school season just around the corner, we’re busy preparing to welcome our students with a clear and organized plan for the upcoming school year. Our updated school year calendar is now available to help you plan ahead and better understand how the Academy operates.
Many parents often ask, “How does the 48-week system work?”
Our lesson schedule is designed around a year-round 48-week calendar, ensuring that each student receives 48 lessons per year, no matter which day of the week they attend. This means there are 48 Mondays, 48 Tuesdays, and so on built into the schedule. On average, students receive four lessons per month, though some months may have three lessons and others five. This pattern usually balances out over two consecutive months and can easily be followed on the calendar. To keep things simple, we do not prorate months with fewer lessons; tuition remains consistent each month as the system evens itself out across the year.
At Mississauga Fine Arts Academy, we’re always working to simplify our processes and make things easier for our students and parents. We’re excited for the start of a new school year and can’t wait to see our students continue their musical journey
🌟 Come See Our Young Stars Perform at the Golden Kids Festival!
The Golden Kids Festival is back, and we’re excited to invite you to a special performance by the MFAA Chamber Strings on Saturday, August 23rd!
Our talented students will be performing live at the event—stay tuned for the exact performance time. You won’t want to miss the chance to see them showcase their hard work and musical talents!
The festival runs from 5:00 PM to 9:30 PM and is a free, family-friendly event filled with fun and entertainment for all ages, including:
- Bouncy castle
- Face painting
- Balloon twisting
- Cotton candy
- Live music
- And many more exciting activities!

Chamber String Group Workshop & Show – Save the Date!
August 16th, 2025

Get ready for one of the most creative and experimental events of the year! Our Chamber String Group will present a workshop and performance centred around the theme “New Music and Original Soundscape.”
This unique experience will feature original student compositions, classical works reimagined, and inventive sound experiments using prepared instruments—think paper clips, elastics, and more!
From warm-up improvisations to live demonstrations of extended techniques, audience members will be invited into the full creative process of building a performance from the ground up. It’s a showcase of imagination, collaboration, and musical exploration like no other.

Student of The Month
Congratulations to Kiera, our Student of the Month! Kiera has been taking drum lessons at Mississauga Fine Arts Academy since September 2024 and studies with Mr. Glenn. Her dedication, steady progress, and love for music truly stand out.
Let’s hear what Mr. Glenn says about Kiera’s progress:

What instrument(s) do you play? – I play the drums.
How long have you been taking lessons? – For a few years, however, I’ve been taking lessons here for around 6 months.
What is your favourite song to play? – I enjoy playing Day 1 by Red Velvet or Whiplash.
What is your favourite food? – I enjoy tiramisu.
What is your favourite thing you’ve learned in class recently? – I enjoyed learning how to play songs I thought were complicated or ones I enjoy listening to.
What is your favourite colour? – I like mint green or any light shade of green.

If you need a schedule change or would like to be added to a waiting list for a particular teacher, day, or time, don’t hesitate to contact us, and we can add you to the waiting list.
