In-Person Lessons Have Resumed!

Jerry Max

We are very happy to let you all know that we have resumed in-person lessons, for almost a month now! It’s been a long time coming, however, everyone’s safety is what is most important, so we’re happy to be reopening while keeping everyone safe. We all had so much jamming out over ZOOM, and we still do! We just wanted to let you know that in-person lessons are back on. So…

What does this mean for students? You will still be required to wear your masks and take proper social distancing measures, regardless of whether you are fully vaccinated or not. We will have hand sanitizer, extra masks, Lysol wipes, and other supplies readily available to ensure the safety of all of our students and teachers. All students will be allowed to continue lessons online, come in person, or do a mix of both depending on your preferences.

What about group makeup classes and masterclasses? Any group classes will remain online for the time being. If you would like to wait to book your group makeup classes until we are able to resume them in person you are more than welcome to do so — these classes are unlimited and do not expire! Otherwise, these classes will continue to be available online to book at any time. If you need the links, just contact the front desk!

Looking to transition to in-person learning? We’re glad to hear that! Feel free to reply to this email or call/text us at 905-276-0251 so we can have everything ready to go. If you’ve been waiting for in-person lessons to start this is the best time to sign up again! We have many teachers that will be available for in-person learning and are looking forward to meeting new students and seeing old faces.

Practice Champ Trophy

Practice champ trophy

Who is up for the 2021 Practice Champ Trophy? Practice challenge has been in full swing since the beginning of this year and there are so many exciting challenges happening right now and coming up soon!

For the summer months, our students participated in the Creative Challenge. It’s so great to see how many students came up with their own compositions and creative work. We are blown away by the talent! Check out some of our students’ creative work below. Click on the image to see the video.  If you haven’t submitted yours there is still time. Get creative, compose a song or musical piece and send us your video. We’ll celebrate your talent together on our social media. Students who collect all six wristbands will be eligible to receive Practice Champ Trophy at the end of the year. Get your creative juices going!

Student of The Month

Noor O.

We are very excited to announce that our July 2021 student of the month is Noor O! Noor plays the violin with Ms. Vira! Here’s what Ms. Vira has to say about Noor’s wonderful achievements:

“Noor is a dedicated student with great love for the violin. She is quite the star in her community and is always the first student to volunteer herself for public and community performances and other opportunities to engage with the audience.

Noor has been working hard on her classical repertoire and its technical challenges, but she has also demonstrated creativity in choosing her own concert program for recitals and public events. Noor has learned an extensive repertoire of popular music and rocked the stage at in-person and virtual recitals for years!

Noor is currently working on her level 5 RCM examination and has just completed her complimentary music theory requirements.

It is my great pleasure and privilege to be working with Noor! I can’t wait to see what this year has in store for Noor and her creative ideas!
Noor has recently published a children’s book. Case C.C is available on Amazon and Kindle:
If you wish to support Noor click on the image to buy her book.

Bernice

August student of the month – Bernice L!

We are very excited to announce that our August 2021 student of the month is Bernice L! Bernice plays the violin with Ms. Vira! Here’s what Ms. Vira has to say about Bernice’s wonderful achievements:

A multi-instrumentalist Bernice Li has demonstrated exceptional musicality in her performance on violin! Over the past year, Bernice has aced her level 7 RCM exam and received second place in the KPU International Music Festival with her performance of Seitz’s Violin Concerto, receiving positive feedback from adjudicator Lynn Kuo.

Bernice learns new music quickly and independently and works hard on technical challenges. Through perseverance and hard work in practicing she is able to achieve a smooth tone and project with a volume of a mature artist.

Bernice is working on Haydn Violin Concerto in G Major, Bach unaccompanied partita in D minor, and many more pieces towards her level 8 RCM exam and with it on performing at more competitions and festivals.

It is my great honour and pleasure to be working with Bernice! I look forward to us learning more music and performing in more public events as Ontario reopens!

We also asked Bernice a few questions. Here are her answers:
