Picture Day was terrific!
On May 16th we had our annual picture day, and with over 80 students participating it was a whirlwind of excitement and fun!
With the help of our photographer friend Andrew Molchanov, we were able to capture some beautiful pictures of our students that we will be distributing shortly.
We hope that everyone who participated had an absolute blast and we look forward to doing another one next year!
Summer Recital: June 15th and 16th
We are so excited for our upcoming Summer Recital!
We have handed out all of the reminders, so if you don’t know what time your performance is please stop by the front desk and we will let you know. Each block will be approximately one hour long, but try and come 15 minutes early for seating.
The recital is completely free, so you don’t have to pay for anything!
It will be at 4141 Living Arts Drive in the Rogers Theatre.
We look forward to hearing all of your pieces shine!
Student of The Month
As the recital draws closer and closer, we see a lot of students working hard on getting their pieces ready, and this month we’d like to feature one of our hardest working students. This month, we spoke to Vira about her students, and while she wanted to reccommend almost ALL of her students for Student of the Month, she chose Dyuti for her pick. Dyuti is 12 years old and is very dedicated and patient.
We asked Dyuti a few questions about herself and this is what she told us:
What instruments do you play? Violin
How long have you been taking lessons? 5 years
What’s your favourite song to play? Summer Song
What is your favourite colour? Green
What is your favourite thing you’ve learned in class recently? Sarabande
We asked Vira to tell us about Dyuti, and this is what she told us:
“Dyuti is a hard working student, regularity performing for student recitals! She just completed her level 3 violin exam and received an excellent grade (A+) as well as positive feedback. During the past few months Dyuti has learned completely new recital program which she chose herself, and mastered new skills: vibrato, bow use for expressive tone on her violin. Duyti also shows initiative in performing for events featuring our school, such as the CDI College Graduation this June! We are currently working on level 4 RCM Violin and making progress fast! Way to go Duyti and I look forward to learning more music with you!
Congratulations Dyuti on your hard work, and we look forward to seeing everything you’re working towards!
