We can’t wait to see our students’ performances. Our in-person recitals happen in the Living Arts Centre in the Rogers Theatre. This summer, with over 700 students and an all-time record enrollment, this recital will take place over two weekends and four days in multiple one-hour time blocks. We will put students in different recital blocks based on their teachers. We will put all your recital blocks together for students with multiple instruments or siblings taking lessons, but you may not be with your teacher.
Here are answers to some frequently asked questions about how the recitals work:
Q- How much do recital tickets cost? I’d love to bring friends/family to watch
A -The recital is entirely free! The hall we’re in seats around 100 people, and the seats are first come, first served. Seating is limited, so please respect other people who may wish to bring guests.
Q – What should the performers be wearing to the recital?
A – It’s entirely up to them! Since it is a rather big event and many people will take photos, we suggest dressing nicely. Still, most importantly, we recommend wearing clothes that will make you feel comfortable.
Q – What time should I arrive?
A – We recommend that families and performers arrive roughly 15 minutes before the recital block. You will need to wait for the group before yours finishes before entering the hall.
Q – Where do I park my car?
A – The Living Arts Centre has free underground parking on weekends. Alternatively, you can park across the centre at the Square One Shopping Centre parking.
Q – Are we allowed to take pictures during the show?
A – Of course! Taking pictures is encouraged; however, we ask that no flash photography be used while the students perform. We will also be having a hashtag contest again this year, where if you post any pictures on social media (Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter) using #MississaugaFineArtsAcademy or #MFAARECITAL, you’ll be entered for a chance to win a prize! There will also be a red carpet outside the hall where you can take pictures.
Q – How does the “stage” work?
A -The Rogers Theatre is a theatre-style room. The “stage” is at the front of the room, and seats go beyond that on a gradual incline. There is no “backstage”—parents will always be able to see their children. We ask that performers sit in the front three rows, and any guests may sit behind that.
Now’s the best time to start talking to your teachers about all of your recital options! If you have any questions about the recital, need an accompanist (other than your teacher), or have any scheduling concerns, please contact us at the front desk.
Continue to practice every day as you have been, and we look forward to seeing you on stage at the Living Arts Centre on June 14th, 15th, 21st, and 22nd!
Whether you’re attending our recital for the first time or are a returning participant, we invite you to view our Winter recital videos on the MFAA YouTube channel. Immerse yourself in fellow students’ performances and let their artistry inspire you. Click HERE

At Mississauga Fine Arts Academy, we are proud to support our students as they grow not only in their skills but also in confidence and performance experience. Each year, our students participate in a variety of music festivals—and this year was no exception. We are thrilled to recognize the incredible achievements of our talented students at the 2025 Peel Music Festival!
Our students competed in a wide range of categories, showcasing their dedication, passion, and months of hard work. With the support and expert guidance of their teachers, they brought home an impressive collection of awards:
We extend our heartfelt thanks and congratulations to our dedicated teachers Ms. Lesya and Ms. Anastasiya, who worked tirelessly to prepare these students for the festival. Their commitment to excellence and nurturing approach plays a vital role in each student’s success.
We are so proud of all our participants—not just for their awards, but for their courage to perform, their drive to improve, and their love of music. Congratulations to everyone involved!

At Mississauga Fine Arts Academy, we always strive to inspire and nurture the love of music in every student, regardless of age. This commitment led us to launch our Animal Adventure program—a unique offering designed specifically for children as young as 3 years old. Since its inception, this program has become a cornerstone of our efforts to provide high-quality music education to young beginners, and the response has been overwhelming!
Why Animal Adventure?
Our Animal Adventure program introduces young children to the joy of music through engaging, one-on-one lessons. Tailored to suit the developmental needs of early learners, the program offers a perfect foundation for exploring rhythm, melody, and basic music literacy. Kids love the fun, interactive approach, while parents appreciate the personalized attention their little ones receive.
The Benefits of Early Lessons
Enrolling young children in music lessons early offers numerous benefits. Studies show that early exposure to music helps enhance cognitive development, improve fine motor skills, and boost memory and concentration. Music fosters creativity, discipline, and social skills, providing a strong foundation for lifelong learning. By starting early, children gain confidence and develop a love for music that can last a lifetime.
A Growing Demand
We are thrilled to share that this program is in high demand! Many of our current students’ younger siblings have already joined, and we’ve seen firsthand how this program builds confidence and sets the stage for future success in music. The smiles and laughter during these sessions say it all – kids and parents love Animal Adventure!
A Great Start for Young Musicians
One of the program’s most exciting aspects is its ability to give young beginners a strong start on their musical journey. By introducing children to the fundamentals of music in a supportive and fun environment, we help them explore their chosen instrument with enthusiasm and joy. Whether it’s piano, violin, or another instrument, the foundation they build here will benefit them for years to come.
Flexible Early Hours Available
We are now offering early afternoon lesson slots to accommodate young learners:
All lessons are private, one-on-one sessions and are 30 minutes long. You can book a lesson in any available time slot during the hours listed above.
Encourage Your Young Sibling to Join!
If you have younger siblings at home who are ready to start their musical journey, now is the perfect time to enroll them in Animal Adventure. This program is an excellent way to spark a lifelong love for music while making learning a delightful experience. Let us help your little one take their first steps into the world of music!

A huge shoutout to Alice T., our Student of the Month!
Alice started singing lessons with Ms. Kryslyne in February 2025, and she’s been shining ever since! She brings so much joy, excitement, and hard work to every lesson, and her love for music really shows. We’re super proud of how far Alice has come — and we know this is just the beginning! Here’s what Ms. Kryslyne has to say about her awesome progress!
“Every child is an artist” – Picasso
“Alice may be the youngest of my students, but she has the brightest eyes whenever she gets to sing anything. Watching her reminds me of how my own eyes should light up when I sing. Sometimes, it feels like Alica becomes the teacher and I become the student — and I couldn’t be more grateful for it.” – Ms. Kryslyne.
We also asked Alice a few questions. Here are her answers.
What instrument(s) do you play? – Vocal
How long have you been taking lessons? – Two months
What is your favourite song to play? – “Let it Go” from Frozen
What is your favourite food? – Fried Chicken
What is your favourite thing you’ve learned in class recently? – song “Let it Go”
What is your favourite colour? – Rainbow
Congratulations, Alice, on this well-deserved recognition! Keep reaching for new musical heights!

What is the Musical Ladder System?
At Mississauga Fine Arts Academy, we believe every student benefits from setting and achieving personalized goals. That’s why we use the Musical Ladder System—a unique, motivational program that celebrates students’ progress in music, just like karate belts or swimming levels.
With the Musical Ladder System®, each student receives a customized learning plan and is tested on their progress every 3 months for the first 18 months, every 6 months until their fifth year, and once a year after that. There are 18 levels in all, from Apprentice to Artist. Every level earns a certificate and a colourful wristband (students even get to choose between two designs), and major milestones, such as reaching Rock Star after one year, also earn a trophy.
This approach keeps students motivated and inspired, making learning music an exciting journey.
