🎶 Get Ready for Our Winter Recital! 🎶

Winter recital 2024

The Winter Recital is just around the corner, and we’re thrilled to showcase our talented students on stage! This year, with over 700 students, the recital will be held at the Living Arts Centre in the Rogers Theatre over two weekends: December 7, 8 and 21, 22. Each recital block will be an hour long and organized by teacher groups. For families with students taking multiple instruments or siblings taking lessons, we’ll make every effort to schedule you in the same block, though this may mean you’ll be with a different instructor than usual.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q – How much do recital tickets cost?

A – Tickets are free! Seating is limited to around 100 seats per block and is first-come, first-serve. Please consider this when inviting guests, so everyone has a chance to enjoy the performances.

Q – What should the performers wear?

A – Dress comfortably but feel free to elevate your style if you like! Many attendees take photos, so this is a wonderful time to look your best while feeling comfortable.

Q – When should we arrive?

A – We recommend arriving 15 minutes before your scheduled block. You’ll need to wait until the prior group has left before entering the hall, and seating is first-come, first-serve.

Q – Can we take pictures during the show?

A – Absolutely! Photography is encouraged, but please avoid using flash. This year, we’re hosting a hashtag contest! Share your photos on social media with #MississaugaFineArtsAcademy or #MFAARECITAL for a chance to win a prize! A red carpet area will also be available outside the hall for photos.

Q – How does the stage setup work?

A – The Rogers Theatre is a traditional theatre-style space with the stage at the front and seats on a gradual incline. Performers will sit in the front three rows, and guests are welcome to sit behind them. There’s no backstage, so parents can watch their children at all times.

Now is the perfect time to chat with your teachers about the recital! If you need an accompanist, have questions, or have scheduling concerns, please stop by the front desk, and we’ll be happy to help.

We can’t wait to see you shine on stage and bring the music to life! 🎶

Spread the Holiday Joy and Gratitude 🎄✨

Photo Collage

The holiday season is upon us – a time of joy, togetherness, and gratitude. At Mississauga Fine Arts Academy, we are incredibly thankful for the vibrant community that makes our school such a special place. This year, we invite you to help us spread holiday cheer and lift the spirits of our amazing teachers and front desk team.

Our team works tirelessly to nurture and inspire every student, and your words of appreciation can make a world of difference! We’ve placed stockings for our teachers and front desk staff at the academy. We encourage you to add a simple, heartfelt note or card of gratitude to their stockings.

It doesn’t have to be elaborate – a few kind words, a small card, or even a drawing from our younger students will brighten their days and remind them how much they’re valued.

Let’s come together as a community to make this holiday season magical for everyone! Thank you for helping us fill our stockings – and hearts – with the spirit of Christmas.

What is the Musical Ladder Reward System?

At Mississauga Fine Arts Academy, we believe every student benefits from setting and achieving personalized goals. That’s why we use the Musical Ladder System—a unique, motivational program that celebrates students’ progress in music, just like karate belts or swimming levels.

With the Musical Ladder System, each student receives a customized learning plan, and every 3-6 months, they’re tested on their progress and knowledge. As they reach new milestones, we celebrate their achievements with fun rewards, including bracelets and trophies, to recognize their dedication and growth as musicians.

This approach keeps students motivated and inspired, making learning music an exciting journey.

Our goal is to help you in the best way possible.
