Making Music Together — Holiday Wishes from MFAA ✨

Happy Holidays from MFAA - 2025

As another year comes to a close, we’d like to reflect on a wonderful journey shared together at Mississauga Fine Arts Academy.

A true highlight of the year was our Faculty Concert, where our dedicated teachers shared the stage with our advanced students and graduates, celebrating mentorship, artistry, and musical excellence. This was followed by our Summer Recital, the Chamber Strings Workshop, and various community events such as the Golden Kids Festival, where students shared their music beyond the academy. We wrapped up the year with our Winter Recital, celebrating growth, dedication, and hard work.

We are incredibly proud of all our students, from beginners to those who have been with us for many years. Congratulations to everyone who passed their RCM exams and to those who participated in music festivals and competitions, earning awards and prizes. Your commitment and progress inspire us every day.

Looking ahead, we are excited to reach new heights together and can’t wait to see where the coming year takes us.

Thank you to our families for your continued support and trust.

Wishing you a joyful holiday season and a happy, healthy New Year.

Warmest wishes,

Vadim & the MFAA Team 🎶✨

Winter Recitals: A Celebration of Achievement, Passion, and Community

Winter Recital collage 2025-2026a

We are wrapping up another incredible year with our Winter Recitals—filled with unforgettable moments, inspiring performances, and proud milestones for our students and families. Over two weekends, more than 500 performers took the stage at the Living Arts Centre, showcasing their talents across a wide range of instruments and musical styles.

From piano and violin to voice, guitar, drums, and more, each performance reflected months of preparation, focus, and dedication. Our students demonstrated not only musical growth, but also confidence, discipline, and a true love for music. These performances were the result of consistent hard work and a shared passion—values that are at the heart of the culture we cultivate in our music community.

At Mississauga Fine Arts Academy, we believe in following your dreams while staying true to our core values: Dream. Believe. Play. Achieve. The Winter Recitals were a beautiful reflection of these principles in action.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to:

  • Our teachers, for their passion, guidance, and unwavering dedication to every student
  • Our admin team, for the countless hours of behind-the-scenes work that made these events run smoothly
  • Our wonderful volunteers, whose support on recital days was invaluable
  • Our parents and families, for your encouragement, trust, and continued support

We truly missed the students who were unable to perform at the Winter Recitals and are very much looking forward to seeing them shine at our Summer Recital in June.

If you weren’t able to attend the recitals in person, don’t worry—we’ve got you covered. Be sure to visit our YouTube channel to watch the performances. For those who took the stage, it’s a wonderful way to relive the momentum and enjoy those special moments all over again.

Please note that our recital videos feature only performers who have signed a media waiver. If you would like your child to be included in future recital videos, please be sure to sign the waiver and let us know you’d like your child featured at the next recital.

Thank you for being part of another memorable year at MFAA. We can’t wait to continue this musical journey together. 🎶

Celebrating Our Students’ RCM Exam Success! 🎶✨

As we wrap up the year at Mississauga Fine Arts Academy, we are proud to celebrate the dedication and achievements of our students who completed their Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) exams in November and December.

The RCM program is a highly respected and comprehensive curriculum that builds strong technical foundations, musical expression, and a deeper understanding of each instrument. Preparing for these exams requires focus, perseverance, and consistent guidance, and our students truly rose to the challenge.

We are excited to recognize the following outstanding results from this recent exam session:

What is the Musical Ladder System?

At Mississauga Fine Arts Academy, we believe every student benefits from setting and achieving personalized goals. That’s why we use the Musical Ladder System—a unique, motivational program that celebrates students’ progress in music, just like karate belts or swimming levels.

With the Musical Ladder System®, each student receives a customized learning plan and is tested on their progress every 3 months for the first 18 months, every 6 months until their fifth year, and once a year after that. There are 18 levels in all, from Apprentice to Artist. Every level earns a certificate and a colourful wristband (students even get to choose between two designs), and major milestones, such as reaching Rock Star after one year, also earn a trophy.

This approach keeps students motivated and inspired, making learning music an exciting journey.
